Internet Virus
Just thought everyone should know.....
There is an internet virus that began yesterday that is quite severe. Anyone who has gotten it has lost their computer. I normally ignore these things but this one is bad enough that the international firm my mother works for has had all employees shut down their pc's until further notice. (My mom just called). This time I think that even I may heed the warning.

as a sometimes game player, ME, XP, and 2000 just wouldn't cut it so I'm on 98 still and wouldn't be effected. Old tech still has some small advantages

It is not sent through e-mail. To shot the countdown, you can set your calendar back a couple of days and the countdown follows and then you have time to get the fix and the patch

Thanks , Marisa. I usually ignore these things as they are often easy to fix. Just fixed one actually. However when my mom's company shut off their pc's I got a bit nervous. I'm writing the info from the other thread down now. Once again, thanks. Dar.

if u can't get it to fix due to the countdown u have to go to DOS and type in "shutdown -a" which will stop the countdown.
Everyone should have a good fire wall up, it'll use your open ports and get inside yur PC. Man, i remember the old days when me and my friends learned how to hack, it was fun!

OK.. so I have heard it affects ME and also that it doesn't affect ME. Which one is it? I have ME and it appears as though this virus hasn't hit me. I sure hope it doesn't...its already gotten in to a bunch of government computers and even shut down all the stoplights in one city
