Is it true that leo's don't mind a red IR bulb on 24/7?

i've heard thats its okay, as long as there is a drop in the temperature so they know its time to hunt.

I was hoping to only use a 75W IR bulb for my tanks which will be a max of 10" deep, but I just measured the temperature at 10" distance and it was only 82*F. I don't want to use a 150W bulb, does anyone know if a 100W bulb would be good enough and safe to bring the temp up to 90*F safely? The light will be placed half-way over the edge of a tank, instead of over the middle of one end of the tank, so it can't be so strong as to melt or burn the plastic tank. I don't want to use a 150W bulb cuz I was using one once and I kept on melting everything.

UVA and UVB are generally the spectrums required IR is something for night to my knowledge

I use a red heat bulb alone at night and the red heat with a regular house bulb during the day. That gives me the appropriate drop in temps I need.

i use the ir bulbs for all 4 cages of my leos. On my adult leo cage I keep the 2 of the ir bulbs on during the day and turn one of them off at night for a temp. drop. and during the day time i have a floresent uvb 2.0 bulb that regulates day and night. just remember the temps need to drop a little at night time. And 82 is a little high for night time temps i would drop a little more than that. and if your house is no lower than 72 you could possible turn out all the ir lights. i belive it is 72 but to be on the safe side i would say 75.

And if they are out of ir bulbs i use those bulbs that are supposed to be like the moon. sorry i forgot the name cause i don't use them very often.
