Egg Humidity

I was just wondering if eggs need more humidity to hatch. Like, should i raise the humidity a couple days before there due??

As far as I know it's the opposite... A few days before hatching the humidity is lowered to make the egg shell weaker and easier to break.

I could be wrong, but I know I've read/heard that a couple times, and it makes sense to me.

Thanks

Wouldnt the humidity make them softer?? so its like 'hot and soggy'. (not literally)

no and humidity levels are vary depending on what kind of eggs you incubate.

No, see, the water that is in the eggshell and makes the shell solid gets absorbed into the egg when the humidity goes down, and makes the shell weaker. I'll try and find the article that that was written in.

I don't know what would happen. If you're not sure, just keep them at the same humidity... they'll get out of the eggs, don't worry!

Not unless you find flushing money down the toilet funny (I don't).

Too wet = too high internal pressure within the egg = eggs bursting. It won't actually "explode" like a firecracker, ha ha.

So no, it wasn't a joke.
