Bad news
My snake had a bad poop this week. I think I am going to get a stool sample in to the vet very soon no matter what. Do you think there is something wrong or is this just ironic? First bad poop, no new behavior. The only new thing that happened was I moved her from aspen to newspaper. She is eating like a hog as she always did so nothing weird behavior wise. As most know, it's the female cal king im talking about. I'm getting it checked either way, but would you please tell me your opinions on what it may be?

Hi Andy,
That poop looks fairly standard for a Cal-King. Every now and then you'll see odd-looking stools. I think that snakes can suffer from non-life-threatening simple gastric upsets and diarrhea, just like people can.
You also mentioned that the snake's eating well. In my opinion, if it is doing so, there's really nothing wrong with it.
If I had a dollar for every loose stool I've seen, I'd be a rich man!
I wouldn't go panicking yet.
take care,
Simon

I agree with Simon, there doesn't appear, IMO, to be much out of the ordinary with that feces.

Maybe it pooped like that before but because it was on aspen it just soaked in. Now that it's on newspaper you can see it better.
Just a thought....looks similar to a lot of my cal king's poops.

Thanks to everyone for your opinions. I now feel that it was a normal poop, but her poop is usually darker than that and not as runny, so I thought she may be sick because of the change in colour, but since you all think she isn't, I gues she's not! Thanks!
BTW i'm going to get a fecal done anyways, not that I think that anything is wrong anymore, but I haven't gotten one done yet for her yet, and many people say you need to.

Hi Andy,
Let us know what the verdict is on the fecal exam.
