The attached snake photo was taken recently about 40 minutes outside of Marseille, France. Can anyone here identify the species of snake in this photo? Thank you! We just want to know whether it is venomous/dangerous or not.

I live in Spain and the species we have here are very similar. This appears to be a Viperine Water Snake (Natrix maura).
They are completely harmless.
