This snake was found in northeastern PA (Shohola, PA) on the rocks and in the water near my dock (see photo). Conditions were 80 degrees, sunny, humid, no wind, no rain for three days.
I have tried to ID it from Google photos, but no luck.
Yup defenitely a northern water snake, which are harmless, and beneficial to have around your house (if that's were this was...) Here's another picture of a similar specimen:
