Exclamation She's Hiding Under Water Dish And Won't Eat!!

So i had just purchased a 6 month old coastal, she was doing just fine for a few weeks then she started to develop strange behavior such as hiding underneath the water dish. I have had no other carpet do this to me, and she is also refusing food for weeks at a time. This has me very worried.

What are your temps like? How many times has she eaten for you and how often are you offering food? As long as your husbandry is dialed in, and she's not losing much weight or showing other signs of illness, I wouldn't worry too much. You can try extending the time between her feedings and see if that stimulates her appetite. I have one finicky feeding carpet too. She'll eat a few times then skip a few meals. All the other carpets eat consistently so I figure she's just an oddball. No big deal. They'll eat when they're hungry.

How often are you feeding her and what prey? Also how long exactly have you had her?

My Irian Jaya carpet have up on food after an escape and it took a little while to get him back going but as zig says an odd missed feed is of no concern.

Could she be coming into shed?
We have two coastals, the male eats like a champ, the female was a fussy eater as a juvenile, not always accepting food. Have you tried leaving the food in the tank?
