baby snake found in New Delhi India

Hello!

This really little snake had found its way into my kitchen!

I carefully put him (or her) in a box and released into the wild.

Does anyone know what kind of snake this is?

I live in New Delhi, northern India.

Some ratsnake, likely in the Elaphe genus. Not sure exactly which species. Nice snake

Searched for "banded snake India", and a few picture glances later...presto! Wikipedia provided the rest of the description.

She's kind of has the Mandarin rat snake pattern... I wonder if there's a relation...
