...and you think you're having a bad day?
Something is wrong with my truck. I've been in and out of the hospital with my lungs.
I just opened a letter from shyster law firm that basically says they own my house due to a civil settlement for back taxes at a court hearing I "failed" to appear at! How the H€££ can they have a trial with no summons, or Certified mail, and say I failed to appear?
Anyway, it'll be Monday before I can find anything out. The rest of you, have a great weekend.

If they failed to properly serve you, the judgment will be void and they will have to give you a new trial. Get a lawyer and get them on it asap.

Re: ...and you think you're having a bad day?
Actually, I just looked again, and it's not an outside law firm or individual....but the City itself.
Now, here's where it gets even weirder....
I've been paying $150 almost every month, and $300 when I thought I missed a payment.
I just opened a letter I got a few days ago from the taxing agency that only declared THIS YEARS TAXES of $845!
How do you pay $150 every month to relinquish a debt of less than $1000.... and owe more than $1000?
I actually have news.. I've decided to go after them....it's not right, I'll be bock...mmmm....( a little Arnold humor there.....)
And as sure as I believe a lot of people didn't catch it right off, those that laughed need serious counseling.

Re: ...and you think you're having a bad day?
Unfortunately, for me...no!!!
I wish it was. I've got some serious lung problems, my truck ( only mode of transportation, other than feet, which my lungs say can only go 50'.)
I'm really not a whiner, something my wife of 25 years didn't realize until I went through Cancer treatment, and saw what I had to go through. ( She thought I was a wimp, because every time she slapped me, or touched me accidentally somehow, in any way that could POSSIBLY cause injury, I would fake great pain.)
My daughter thought I was the biggest idiot ever growing up. Dad never knew anything! ( That way... it initiated an incentive to learn more...and help stupid old dad out!)
I'm just whinning a bit. I've been through Cancer and divorce after 25 years... I think I'll weather this.
BTW: Didn't I post this BEFORE 4/1?

Sorry...hope everything works out!
