Whistling? Chuffs?

Hi forum! A while back I asked some questions about how to handle my new carpet who was giving me a hard time with her biter tendencies. Now with the snake hook she's doing much better! Still a little reluctant to come out of her cage though, after all she is a snake. Now though, when I have her out, she's always whistling ... whistling whistling... and then and occasional chuff. There have been times before where she hasn't done that so I know it's not an RI (she doesn't do it in her cage either). So know i'm thinking she's excited or a little stressed. How should I go about calming her down? Or getting her more used to me? Like are there any tips on getting them out of their cages (i have a hook) or getting them to calm down? Thanks!

Genuinely I've found that leaving them all alone calms a snake down as well as anything else. I rarely handle any of mine (scrubs excepting) and they were all a bit flighty as youngsters but have calmed down with time even with little holding.

I can take any of them out of the viv without a hook tap and with the exception of Mrs Olive (who's pyschotic) they are all absolutely fine - all very calm.

A few of my carpets will still breathe heavily while I'm handling them too. It's not a big deal at all to me since I only handle them once or twice a week for 5-10 minutes at a time. As far as getting them out of their cages that can be challenging because they will latch onto ANYTHING. I usually try to take them out when they're on the floor of the enclosure or on a shelf. It's a real pain to take them out if they're resting on a perch.
