Radiant Heat Panels
I just have a question about radiant heat panels, do they do a good job in heating an entire enclosure. I know they are used for a hot spot but if I had the hotspot set to 90F would it keep the cool side around 80F or so?

Re: Radiant Heat Panels
Rhp are an infared source so they'll heat your substrates and decor which will in turn heat the air. Yes they do a good job of heating the whole enclosure. I have similar hot cold side temps. The key is properly sizing the rhp. When I contacted pro products they asked me cage size, number of vents, material and ambient room temperature. These all factor in. After that they recommendeded the correct panel. I bought 2 for 2 different sized enclosures with great results.

Re: Radiant Heat Panels
RHP's in my opinion are the only way to go, they will outlast any other heat source by years, and yes if you get the right size for your cage you will have a hot and cool side

Re: Radiant Heat Panels
I used the old helix radiant heat panels that looked like they were installed upside down until I had a room that kept ambient temps. I loved them and I agree with the other guys.

Re: Radiant Heat Panels
Yup, they're good for heat! I currently have RBI panels, but if I plan on keeping my wooden enclosures, I'll probably contact Pro Products to replace my 120 watt panels, because they just aren't cutting it in those cages. 80 watts is more than enough for my T12's, though. If I switch them out for PVC, I'll probably continue with RBI. They're a bit cheaper, have the prices listed on the website, and I've been using them for about 3 years now with no problems or failures beyond having trouble maintaining temps in the winter in my big cages.

Re: Radiant Heat Panels
Call Bob at Pro Products and he can make custom panels or he has stock sizes as well. They are the only panels I use for good reason too. If you compare the construction of an RBI panel to that of Pro Heat, its like a Chevy Aveo compared to a brand new Stingray Corvette.
I wouldnt trust my chondro collection to any other heat source. Fully certified and listed products as well that Bob stress tests before any panels leave his place. Ive been buying off him for 10 years now and have over 20 panels here and all are white, working perfect. Radiant heat is far superior penetration wise on these panels to any others, when I did a crude test on my spyder robotics stat the RBI panel pushes double the power to get the same desired effect, which in turn dehydrates the animals.
All the best,
Ryan
