Re: Thinking about getting a Carpet.. Let me see your Carpet pythons !!
I'm really new to the world of Morelia but I'm totally hooked. I've always admired their beauty and I've been wanting to work with them since last year. I got my coastal 3 weeks ago and my jungle this morning. So far they're both pretty tame. Neither have struck at me yet. The coastal has eaten rat fuzzys and a jumbo mouse. I haven't fed the jungle yet. I love their activity levels and semi-arboreal tendencies. I don't think I've seen the coastal on the floor of his enclosure for longer than a minute or two and as soon as I put the jungle in his enclosure today he went straight for the trees too. I can't wait til these guys color up and get some size on them. These are pics from the breeder but I'll post some good ones of my own soon. I definitely say go for it and make the leap into Morelia!

Here's mine...old photos, but you get the idea....all extremely docile. Eating like pigs (well, the small DJJ was a very slow starter, but he's starting to pick up now).
75% Diamond
DJJ male (Riddler line)
DJJ (Gamma line)
My big 'ol cuddly momma (some kind of mix...I've had her the longest and am quite fond of her)
JCP (unknown lineage)

You've got some gorgeous carpets MDT. Thanks to you, I now see a diamond in my future. Your jungle is a stunner too.

Re: Thinking about getting a Carpet.. Let me see your Carpet pythons !!
Here's a couple pix of our 2 unsexed, unknown lineage, dirt cheap reptile show pickups. First up is Bogey the jungle/cross. Most likely IJ is the "cross", I've seen pink on the sides and belly a few times, which Derek Roddy said is a distinct IJ trait. Great disposition, never bitten or struck, only trouble was getting started feeding on mice when he/she first arrived. After seeing the totally different feeding response to a f/t fuzzy rat I suspect Bogey may have been started on rats, and took some time to get hungry enough to try a mouse. Now either one is acceptable, and grwoth is amazingly fast. Still just a baby, probably not yet a year old, inside on a window sill and outside on a porch rail:
Our newest baby, Rivers, smaller than Bogey was on arrival, likely a jag sibling. There was a pink mark on her back when I saw her at the show, so I suspect female. Not as easygoing as Bogey, tends to strike at anything that moves if approached in the enclosure. I do believe that attitude will mellow out with time and handling. Pretty little thing, but not particularly handleable like Bogey. For size reference, the stick is about the diameter of a pencil:
The bulge was a fuzzy mouse:
