wrinkly eggs

My female jungle carpet laid a surprise clutch, and I didn't find the eggs until they were 2-3 days old, so I moved them into an incubator set to 87-88 degrees. They are on plastic egg crate over saturated coco fiber (I had to improvise). They look kind of dented/ wrinkly... are they ok? They are a bright white color and feel like stiff leather. This is my first clutch, so any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Congrats! How's the humidity? It's probably a bit low. If you bump the humidity it can pop the eggs back out.

Denting and wrinkling is typical of most snake eggs. As stated by millertime tune in the humidity and you will be good to go!

Try and make sure the eggs aren't touching the sides of the tub or the top of it. Also, ascertain if there is any moisture getting the eggs wet as they are susceptible to mold if they remain wet for extended periods.

I've increased the humidity... they still look pretty bad. Almost like they are caving in. I covered the holes drilled in the egg box (humidity was at 80% before covering) and I just covered the eggs with a damp paper towel. Was this the right course of action? Anything else I can do??

Grab some Glad" press and seal". cover the tub tightly with it and put the lid back on. That should help raise the humidity. Good luck.

If you have the press and seal on I don't think the paper towel is really needed. Just make sure no condensation or fluid is dripping on the eggs. Also make sure the lid is snapped down over the press and seal.

I tried to post a pic of the eggs but I am not sure if it worked. They are severely wrinkled despite my efforts to rehydrate them. I have noticed no foul smell however, and if I hold a bright flashlight to any she'll I can see lots of red veins and a shadow that I think is the embryo. Should I leave them be or do something else about the wrinkles? They are scheduled to hatch in mid June.
