Hi, so I live in Coastal Alabama and I found this guy while mowing the grass today. He is about 6 inches long and I know non poisonous. Just wondering if someone can help me identify him. Thanks a lot.
As stated above, it is a Dekay snake. Very common and although they like to assume an aggressive posture when threatened, they are completely harmless.
Lol, yeah he went into the floating strike stance numerous times and struck at my fingers a few times as well. His mouth wasn't big enough to do anything but he was fun to try out my Canon 70D with macro lens on. Thanks guys
