Considering converting this bookcase for a carpet python enclosure. I'd use the top 2/3 for the enclosure and bottom 1/3 for storage. Dimensions of the enclosure would be 48 inches wide, 16 deep and 52 tall. To those that have full sized carpets; is 16 inches deep a large enough space for hides, shelves, etc?
This will be going in as a center peice in a wall to wall book case and my wife already picked out the book cases. So I will have to build a cage that matches the style of what she picked out. I'm not too worried about the build; it just would have been easier to use the pre-made. I will probably just add trim pieces to everything to get it all to match. Anyway, if I build my own I can make it the dimensions I want.
