could it be mites?

I had a run in with mites last summer with my SD retic. I treated him and have had no issues since. As I was cleaning his water today I noticed a small, almost white insect crawling on his water bowl. I dumped the water onto a paper towel and there where several white, mite-sized bugs. I took him out to check him and saw no signs of mites. Does anyone know what they could be? Should I treat him for mites as a precaution? Any helps is appreciated.

Snake mites are black, and almost look like dark-colored sesame seeds with hair-like legs. White ones are usually wood mites that can occasionally pop up in mulch bedding. They do not cause any problems for the snakes.

If you notice any dark brown/black ones, those are snake mites.

Re: could it be mites?

Thank. I didn't think they were snake mites but wanted a second opinion.
