Post shedding questions

About a week ago I noticed signs that my young desert king snake was going to shed, starting with some light pink coloration on the stomach. His eyes have been clear for a day and a half now from blue, so I know it should be any time now he sheds the skin. I am aware of problems that could occur such as premature cracks in the shed wile the under skin is still somewhat sticky, retained eye caps after shed, and patches of skin left on after shed. I know the basics of how to treat these issues, I was wondering if there is any particular behavior to watch out for that may indicate a problem that is much less noticeable to a novice snake owner like myself. Also he went into shed days after I received him so he has not eaten yet, I tried several times but with a new environment along with the time of year and him going into shed I just accepted it was to much for him to eat. How long after shedding can I attempt to feed again? This is my first snake and first time seeing the entire shedding process, I am very excited for him to finish and see how everything goes, I just want to make sure I get everything right.

Re: Post shedding questions

I personally have fed during shed if it was feeding time, never had an issue but if he doesn't wan to eat wait until his eyes clear up and see if he will.
