My Animals and some wildlife

I took this picture while inside my parents house.

My blue degu girl.

My boy rat.

One of my previous rats using the computer.

My little photogenic gerbil daddy, Paku.

And Paku once more just because he's so handsome.

This is Ivy, Paku's mate. She's very camera shy, and peed on the bed when the camera got close to her.. Mocha, my chihuahua can be seen in the background.

What are the differences personality wise between rats and degus?

Ivy is the cutest! I've always wanted a gerbil but they are so fast and I would be too afraid to take one out of its enclosure for fear of having one run away!

Its a lot easier to tame a rat. Two of my four degus were rescues from bad situation and I still haven't gotten either of them really tame and I've had them since March. One will let me hold him if I catch him. The other calls a danger alarm every time he sees me get near the cage. The other two are newer additions who came from a breeder. They are much more friendly. Degus are more inquisitive and want to explore than rats. Both are really intelligent (some say degus are more intelligent than rats.. I'd say its a pretty close call).

Thank you
That depends on the gerbil. Their personalities vary a lot. I have some that would come to me no matter where I set them down. Just remember you have to get at least two if you get gerbils.
