Gecko died

Well my otherwise healthy Standings Day Gecko was fine yesterday morning when I fed her. Went in to check on everyone last night and she was on her back dead I have no idea why. Very sad. This was the only hands off animal I have had. Poor thing I wish I knew what happened. All her husbandry and nutrition was spot on. Strange.

Re: Gecko died

Awe, I'm so sorry for your loss. Really weird how she just died like that with no signs though...

Re: Gecko died

So sorry to hear that Dan. Could there have been something wrong with what ever you fed it?

Re: Gecko died

Thanks all. Super weird. Would a spider bite kill a small gecko? In clearing out her tank , which I did like a csi I found a pretty big spider.
She also has a mark that could be from a bite but I am not sure. We are having a family cremation in the yard fire tonight. I haven't lost an animal in a long time
Her diet was clarks gecko diet and the odd few day old dubia. The breader told me this was perfect. I misted twice daily so she could drink from the leaves as well as had a water dish. I figure it's most likely she had a medical problem like a heart or organ issue.

Re: Gecko died

Did you manage to get a pic of the spider? I'm not an expert but someone here might be able to tell you if it was capable as it seems like a legit reason to me.
