Shed Hemipenes?

I have seen this on his previous sheds and thought it might be a small amount of blood somehow related to the shed process. However, I recently came across a thread "http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/elaph...tml#post585350" where this was discussed and am wanting to confirm (or not) what I think I am seeing, which are shed hemipenes. This is from Allegro who is nearly a year old and weighs 104g. He was hatched Aug. 2012. The photo of him is several months old. The shed is from last night. I am referring to the two dark spots on either side of the shed vent scale. I have never had him sexed because it was just not important to me but it would be interesting to know if he is really a he
