Snakes that drink water from misting instead of water dish
Does anyone else's snakes do this? My carpets never drink from the water dish however they all start lapping up the droplets seconds after I mist them. Reminds me of gtp's. Pretty cool to watch.

I have seen many of my snakes behave that way.
Pretty sure it's a natural reaction to rain.

Well, they don't drink from bowls in the wild! Haha.

I run a shallow bath for my snake , and that's where he laps up the water . I never see him drink from his water tank in his viv .

I've honestly never seen one of my snakes drink from a water bowl before. None...

My Snow Boa does this. My other snakes drink from their bowls though.

Re: Snakes that drink water from misting instead of water dish
I've never seen this, but I don't usually mist since my ambient humidity is generally plenty high enough in the room where the snake enclosures are.
I have seen my Jungle Carpet Python drink from the water dish shortly after feeding, but only on very rare occasions.

Humidity is pretty high here in the summer as well, but they seem to do this every time I mist so every morning ill just spray them for 2-3 seconds and they will drink most of the droplets in a few minutes.

Interesting. I occasionally mist when I notice one getting ready to shed and haven't seen anything. I may give it a try at other times to see how they react...

lol... oh no it's not. Not always at least. We'd like to think it's fresh and clean but with this pollution? Not as clean as you'd like to think it is.
My BCI's and my Milksnake drink from bowls. My GTP ignores the bowl. My hognose also ignores the bowl and drinks the water off of her food (I thaw her food in a bowl of water). The first time I saw her do it I thought she was kissing the mouse or... chewing it or... something odd that wasn't eating it exactly...
