Re: My newest eddition
Hi, the sticky thermometer even if the reading is accurate is irrelevant since you need his surface temps and thats it. He will probably be fine until you pick up a UTH. If you plan to buy a zoomed UTH, I would advise you to stick with the light instead. They tend to go nuts, and even on a thermostat may malfunction and fail to turn on or off completely. Lights simply go out and you know right away that its no longer functioning. Unless you get flexwatt or something similar.
Or you can go to CVS and pick up the CVS brand heat mat, with 3 settings on it. I have one and they work very well and are much cheaper (and safer)

Re: My newest eddition
If you get a black light, or ceramic heater, you won't have any issues with it being bright in the enclosure. And with the black light you can watch him at night. I like them but the undertank heat works just fine as well. You could always get a 13 watt black light if you want to watch him at night too ..

Several animals are considered "nocturnal" but come out in the light and bask. I to would use a light. Nice leo though And havent seen you around much.

Re: My newest eddition
Yea, I'd keep a humid hide made out of tupperware in there at all times. I have an energy saver 13 watt black light on one of my enclosures, it costs me like nothing to leave on each night since its only 13 watts ..

yea im not really worried about the cost of the lights lol... considering i heat snakes and other lizards all day my heating bill is pretty high for an apt as it is lol i doubt another light will effect anything.
