Bearded Dragon Question...

Hello, I have a one year old female beardie and was wondering if they lay eggs without a mate (infertile obviously)? Also, I have read all this info saying that they go into dormant stages where they sleep for long periods of time without eating etc. but this has never happened with Tiamat. Is there a reason? If anyone has any info on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Yes females have been known to lay infertile clutches without a mate.

And yes, they do go into a dormant state called brumation during the winter. Usually starts around November and lasts for a couple months. There appitie reduces and temps should be lowered when you notice eating and activity decrease. The reason you have not noticed this yet is because they do not go dormant during their first year. for example, my new beardie was born end of July so he will not go into brumation until next Nov.

Hope this helps.
