Wow, she is really gorgeous. I've never seen one other than in a book. The pics are awesome. I wish you the best in hopes that all will go well with the clutch!

Re: Diamond Python Eggs!!!
THX guys! Todd the bigger 2 are around 6 ft ish or so, the female being the largest. The one male is just tiny compared to her but that didn't slow him down any breeding wise. The older pair are pretty typical size for adult "carpets". Mark

Re: Diamond Python Eggs!!!
I'd love to purchase one of the off spring. Is there any way you can ship to Virginia? I know it's a pain going across the border or at least that's what I heard.
I have wanted a Diamond for a couple years now but hard to find locally.

Re: Diamond Python Eggs!!!
Nope sorry! Being an Austrailian species it is nearly impossible to ship either way across the US/Canada border. I wouldn't be able to for sure because I don't have CITES documents for them to do so. This is the main requirement in order to get proper paperwork. No CITES means no CITES issued, none issued means no import or export. There are way more available in the US then there ever are up here in Canada anyway. Try classifieds on such sites as http://www.kingsnake.com etc. & you will find US breeders or do some googling to find them, they are out there. Mark

Re: Diamond Python Eggs!!!
Well despite looking out at snow this morning today has turned out most excellent! The 15 remaining eggs have pretty much appeared to remain unchanged since I "lost" the 6. Well one looks a little different today, it has a tiny lil Diamond head sticking out of it! WOO HOO! I am totally stoked! Now the big challenge is to keep out of there until late tonight & then maybe snap a few quick pics & leave them be until tommorrow. I'm a pretty happy camper today reguardless of the weather outside. Mark

Haha they can get pretty big too (though i suspect it's more of a rarity). I recall back several years ago on kingsnake.com someone had a pic of a female somewhere over 10 feet long. At the time most of the literature listed max size as 12' but very unlikely to see. That was the main reason i chose not to pursue them.
It seems to have changed a bit but here: Wildlife of Sydney - Fact File - Diamond Python lists them as reaching 6.5 - 10 feet roughly.
Encyclopedia Britannica says 13' !! lol never heard of one getting that big

Re: Diamond Python Eggs!!!
I'd like to see a 10 footer. Ya never know my girls pretty big & looks like she has actually grown some since she laid. I was looking yesterday & was thinking she may be 7ft & is quite thick. I'll have to get an accurrate measurement here one of these days. The one book I was reading say they can lay upto 50 eggs, so in order for that to happen I'm guessing the female would have to be 10 ft. The same book says 6.5-7 ft for adults though. I tend to take what most books say with a grain of salt. Mark
