not eating

I've had my ball for about 3 years now and ever since i got him he's been a great eater. Switched over to frozen rats in a second. But for the past 3 months he seems to not be interested in eating...at all. His cage temps/humidity have been the same and i haven't noticed any behavior changes with him. He looks the same and even roams around his tank as if he was looking for food but when i offer it, he just slithers away. Any thoughts/suggestions? I'm tempted to try to feed him a live small mouse but wouldn't want him to get used to it.
