Question humidity for savannah

What is a good percentage/level of humidity in an enclosure for a sav. This is one question I have been searching for all over some people say very arid, some say very high. Just wondering. And does a 50% potting soil 25% sand 25% vermiculate mix sound good for a substrate. Thanks

My savannah and blackthroat enclosures both stay around 54 % humidity. As for substrate I've yet to find anything as good as plain old dirt. It's diggable(is that a word? lol) and hold moisture.

Yes i agree with the dirt, as will most people who keep monitors will agree. Its the best thing you can keep them on, i recently transferred my guy onto dirt, and it looks like he loves it! I think it psycologically better for them as it really is like their own habitats...

Thanks for the replies I am trying the mix for know because it is to hard for me to find a place to dig up some dirt( I live in a apartment) but eventually I might change over. Right know my humidity is at 60% and my heat range is from 79-130 in the basking spot. Thnaks for any help. I hope he/she is happy in the enclosure. but I think it need a bit more decor to help her( I think it's a female) feel more comfortable being out of her burrow.
