When I feed my Hondo I have to cover his feed tank or he'll sit there watching me and strike if I get too close. Once he's covered the mice are gone in no time flat

I had a retic do that to my hand once. My stupid friend wanted to see him eat so she grabbed a rat and started teasing my 7' tic with the food, I went and grabbed her arm and Whammo! I got nailed instead.
