Exercise cage

Not that I think rubbermaids are cruel....as I keep my corns in rubbermaids. But lately I have been wanting to make sure they get more exercise than handling and the rubbermaid cage provides. It probably is only a mental thing for me, and they most likely don't care but anyways!

I finished this simple cage today...its easy to take outside and spray down between snakes, its about two feet tall which let me put in climbing shelf...and its pretty wide. Jack tried it out first today and he really moved around a lot in it. I am planning on letting them hang out in it for a few hours a week each. And eventually I am planning on building a large wooden enclosure that's 4 by 2 high x 6 long and creating an easy to clean "exercise pen" for them.

Excellent idea - we have been debating the exercise pen idea too - but haven't put a plan together yet for one. This is nice in that it can be disinfected. How do you secure the lid down or do you supervise them while they are inside?

The lid is fiarly secure without anything extra....but I add weight on top for good measure. He was in there about an hour today, actively trying to escape and he couldn't find a way out. So I hope it stays that way.....

I really can't wait to build a nice larger one.

Great Idea, excercise is a good idea and they do need it. In the wild corns have to hunt fof food do they not.
