Red blood python is just the common name, and not necessarily indicative of the actual colour. Although some specimens can acheive a vibrant or deep red, most of them are orange, brown, yellow, or a combination
Oh yea I forgot some people call all three species red, black and Borneo bloods. I go by the original names with only brongersmai being called the blood python and the other two as Sumatran and Borneo short-tailed pythons. That way I don't have to call red colored blood pythons: red red blood pythons or yellow ones yellow red blood pythons
