Girlfriend hated my snakes.....
AND NOW SHE'S TRYING TO CLAIM ONE!!!
Can you believe that??? I got mad at first just because of all the bitching I had to endure for weeks when I got my first.... and now I brought home a baby ball that's super sweet, she says he's hers now since I didn't have "permission" to buy another snake in the first place. I think she's gotta lot of nerve..... I told her fine!!! then you can feed him then too.... AND!!! Im buying another one!!!! ( which I was going to do anyway o> ) Lets just say she didn't find it very amusing
LOL..... she's hates the thought of mice and rats.... I think she'd throw up if she had to touch one.
Anyways.... now that all her crapy reasoning she had for not wanting "ME" to have snakes is out the window (since she owns one now) I think I'll be getting a couple more snakes pretty soon

My wife was the same way she said ''I'm not going to touch it or have anything to do with it.'' I got my Dumerils Boa and after getting her out a time or two I relized I wasn't getting to hold or touch the snake. So needless to say I have a pair of Dumerils and the wife has her a pair of corn snakes. We would have more if we had the room.

Well personally I think she has a lotta nerve to claim a snake as her own and yet not be willing to feed it. But hey like you said this could work out in your favor. Personally I'd let her play with "her" snakey for about a month by then she shoud be hooked and wont put up as much of a fight, try telling her you heard that they are social animals and will be happier in pairs

Wow what a lovely girlfriend you have! I like what unknownclown said, lotta nerve. My boyfriend wouldn't take anything from me. But hey, agreed again, maybe in your favor.

yeah I dunno. I don't find it healthy to tell your s/o what they can and can't buy. Of course there are boundaries to this and it doesn't hurt to express an opinion about it but you're not married. If you want the snake, get it, you don't need her permission to do so. And if she says the snake is hers, then tell her to pay you all the money you spent on it and tell her she has to feed it, etc.

It does make a difference when you're living together, for instance, my mom is deathly terified of snakes and rodents. When my folks moved into their current house they had a mouse in the garage. She she had problems sleeping and was going to have the house put up for sale if my dad didn't get rid of the mouse right away.

Bj: it was a 3 month old coastal
unknownclown: that's funny that you said that.... while I was at work she was home doing whatever and she said she went to go check on him and she said he looked lonely and that he might need a buddy
Alice: I TOTALLY agree with what you said.... I don't tell her what she can and can't buy, and I would understand if she could at least take 2 minutes to think of a half way decent reason why I shouldn't keep snakes. But she can't!!! I have a whole seperate room that I keep my animals and weights in and there's no reason at all for her to have to go in there if she doesn't want too. Im just glad that she's finally coming around...... Now my problem is how am I going to show up with the new motorcycle she told me I couldn't have
reverendsterlin: that's funny.....

LOL
I was the same way.... well not to the point where i would tell my boyfriend not to get a snake but i didn't like the idea of touching a snake/reptile or sleeping in the same room as one! But after a while i got used to them and he made me appreciate how great of an animal snakes and reptiles can be...i can honestly say i was converted!!! hehe

To funny when I met Julie she was shocked that people actually kept reptiles. Now she has her own wall in the reptile room. I deffinatly prefer her to be obsessed then stressed about reptiles. Although she is still not crazy about snakes but I am still able to keep them. So remember once she has her pet it all starts from there. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
