The Next Generation
I can't wait until he's big enough to clean cages.

Re: The Next Generation
You can start him early. He's got long enough arms. He'll enjoy it!
I have a son that's 12 and a step daughter that's almost 13, and I refuse to let them clean the cages because I am pretty sure they'll break something. Otherwise, they'd be my personal cage cleaners!

But if anyone asks, I only have 1. The rest just showed up for the house party.

Re: The Next Generation
Thanks all. Elijah is a great kid that loves dinosaurs, pizza, mac n cheese, nature, and swimming. He lost another tooth today too. Anybody got $5 for the tooth fairy? All I have are a couple of $20's.

You and me both Blaze. It used to be $1 a tooth when I was a kid. The cost of living has gone way up! To think it'll be close to $100 for dinner and a movie when he's ready to date is bananas. That's why we stress the importance of saving now. It's funny though when we take him shopping and won't buy him something he wants or if he wants to exceed the budget we've given him. He'll get an attitude and say, "Well can I just buy it with my own money?" And we're like, the answer is still no son.

Re: The Next Generation
I think the question is how much money are you giving him he has so much coin in is pocket that's an option?????? I don't remember having a pocketful of cash in the event my parents didn't want to buy me something.
But good on you for teaching the importance of money management. I think this picture fits perfectly.

Re: The Next Generation
@ Blaze- That chart is unfortunately a little too accurate all too often. We have a work hard/play hard and carrots and sticks program over here. My son gets a $5 weekly allowance if he's good or less after infractions . He has to save $2, give $1, and he can spend $2. If he's really on point at home, school, karate, and swimming he sometimes gets extra treats. There's a dinosaur exhibit in town this weekend so he's been on his A game. Last week was a different story.

Re: The Next Generation
Karate is excellent for young men, started myself at 10. Keep up the good job raising a fine young man.

Re: The Next Generation
El-Ziggy, I love to see young people properly introduced to reptiles where they learn to treat them with respect and properly care for them. That said, I [I]suspect[I] that when he is old enough to help clean cages, he will want to handle them a whole lot more than pick up their poop or worse yet, clean out a water bowl when they've used it as their bathroom. Just an educated guess

Re: The Next Generation
That's a brilliant pic Ziggy, and he looks so comfortable holding the carpet. I've a funny feeling when he does start helping cleaning that $5 a week ain't gonna cut it no more
