View Full Version : Decisions!

So I have a decision to make, and I'm not quite sure what to do.

I decided to list my leopard gecko on craigslist, with hopes to try to trade for a corn snake. I received a few offers, and I basically accepted one offer, we will call him Guy 1, however I haven't been able to complete the trade because I am away on vacation and my boyfriend is watching over the leo. So I had plans to trade with guy1 since last week for his young unsexed corn eating two f/t pinks a week, but today, another guy (guy 2) e-mailed me with his offer. He sounded very eager, willing, and excited. He told me that he breeds bps and leos, so I figured he can't be too bad. His is a male that eats one adult live mouse, once a week. They are both willing to drive over an hour to meet with me.

Should I go with guy1, guy2, or neither? My conscience tells me I should go with guy 1 because I feel bad because I already basically agreed. But guy2's seems like a more practical.

If I do go with guy2, how would I notify guy1 of my change in decision!?

I would go with guy 1. Part of the fun of snakes is getting to watch them grow.

Marvel- I agree, that is exactly what I was thinking!

I'm horrible with corn morphs, but I was guessing that Guy 1 is possibly okeetee and guy 2 is a normal? Please, please, please correct me if I'm wrong!

i would agree with marvel. Plus its easier to say to guy 2 'sorry. i already had an offer' than to say to guy 1 'something better came along'

i think the big snake looks like an amel, but cant tell too much based on guy 1's picture.
Also, think about if you want to take in a snake who eats live, its easier to keep/feed FT, and cheaper than live most of the time.

Sooo true. It's so fun to see snakes grow, and feel good because you're the one who cared for them all the way through. (: However, go with your gut instinct. It's YOU that will be caring for it from now on.

I would have to go with guy one. In part because, as you mentioned, you already accepted his offer verbally and have been keeping him waiting (whereas he could otherwise perhaps had made a different trade with someone else had he not been waiting on you). But I know I tend to feel obligated once I say "yes" to someone.

guy 1 -
1. you made a deal with him
2. the snake is eating F/T which is cheaper, easyer to maintain, and I dont know how you feel about feeding live but there is that too
3. Guy 1 has ayounger snake but it looks to be well started and feeding well so you get to watch him grow up and learn about him as you go

Unless I felt Guy1 won't take good care of the Leo, I would stick with the first deal (Guy1).

Update: I decided to go with guy one, however he hasn't responded recently... so I'm going to call him tomorrow. I'll update soon! I hope everything works out well :)

I traded with guy 1! This is my new corn. Any idea what the morph (i'm pretty sure normal) is or any name ideas?
