so i found this turtle along the river i think its a painted turtle but the colors seem be a bit off. its also larger then any painted turtles i have seen in the area. here are some pics please let me know what you think. also can turtles like painted n maps hybred or is that to much gap in dna? anyways here are some pics

interesting a species that is not native PA i wonder if there is any reports of invasive sliders in PA. might be something to look into then again if it is indeed a slider could be someones pet? seems to bite alot btw

They're all over the U.S. Yes, they are not native, but they are definitely up there in PA, as well as NY, and everything down to here in the southeast. They're also Europe, Asia, Australia, and in the western U.S. A major plague whereever they are.

thanks for the info its the first slider i have seen so far in PA i thought it looked a little unusual
