Here is the new cage I have just set up for my Golden Gecko. Its about three feet high I guess....maybe a foot and a couple inches wide....same deep. Cypress multch, and the "tree" is something I made for this cage last year. He will be moving in tomorrow! A palace for such a small gecko! :)

Unfortunatly they are plastic plants. Just about an hour ago I finished planting live plants in it.....But I am going to be leaving the fake plants until the live ones have a chance to fill in quite a bit. thanks for the replies.

Tree I made over a year ago with this cage in mind. The cage has been sitting out of use for a whole year as well. At least I don't have to worry if the paint still smells. *L*

Anyways, it is a wire frame....in the shape of the tree. Then glue, and a paper machie mix over the wire frame. This had to dry for a few weeks as I did many many layers of paper machie (sp)

After that was dry, and painted it with enamel paints, 3 coats. Let them dry two weeks to be sure...

Then used seriously about 10 coats of polyurethaine all over the tree, again and again and again. I wanted to make sure no water could get inside the tree as the paper machie wouldn't hold up to constant humidity. This took at least over two week period letting things dry.

After that I re-checked it to make sure no holes could be found and any questionable areas on the tree were sealed with aquarium sealant to just be on the safe side...

he loves it!

He has been in the new cage for over a day now and still is not very happy about the move. The live plants are doing well.

Here is a photo I took this afternoon.
