Looks like you had fun! Love the pics. The fourth pic of the snake climbing up the leaves is incredible! Thanks for posting your adventures. :)

I'd rather be sloshing around a creek before anything. Finding burrows, crawdads, salamanders and anything else. Of course it doesn't happen as often and evolves some wheezing now. Good stuff Wayne.

I so want your backyard!

The taxes are a killer. $100 per acre annually. with 36 acres, it's a lot of money all at once to come up with, over and over again, every stinking January.:(

Why is it so high? Is it because of the state you live in, or is it like that everywhere?

Ahhh that's nothing. I pay more than you and I have a lot 130'x65'
I would love to have a property like yours...and would gladly pay the taxes :)

The region I live in has a very small population.

Infrastructure costs money, with a smaller population to draw taxes from, the numbers have to be higher to achieve the same goal.

I am surrounded by almost a million acres of state forest, the state is exempt from paying tax, so the burden falls on the residents.

Makes me miss being out away from the city and away from so many people. That's why I try an go camping as often as I can to get back in touch with nature!

Beautiful pics as usual and thanks for sharing, I look forward to seeing more ;)

Those are some awesome pictures! That seems like one awesome place to live. I'm from Pennsylvania and I have a lot of habitats like that around here. There is so much live in those kinds of environments that there is almost never a dull moment (except, of course, when winter has to come and rain on our parade). Very interesting shots that you had. I am just starting herping, so I do not have much experience, but you just about the same idea I had about taking pictures of them. I really like the third one on the first post, and I love the first one in your third post of pictures. Keep up with the good work and good luck!

Awesome pics xD All I ever see around here are black racers and occasional rattlesnakes. But I'm sure if I looked harder I'd find tons more. (: I live on the Nature Coast of FL, after all. xD

You're lucky to have that much natural space right next to you. I have to drive a significant distance to get to (much less) space like that.
