I rescued this poor guy from a complete loser the other night, I drove 2 and a half hours at 10pm just to get him into a better home. The previous owner had him in a glass 55 gallon aquarium with no subsitrate, no water bowl, no hides, no decorations, no heat lamp, nothing but a UTH. The snake has a minor burn on his underbelly from laying on the glass directly above the UTH. The previous owner stated "he's a viscous snake, always biting me, and being aggressive." Well, since I got him home he's never once showed an ounce of aggression in him. He's such a sweetheart, and he's also settling in very nice! I checked him for mites and ticks, luckily he didn't have any. I'm just glad I was able to save him and bring him into a much better home, where I'll actually care for him, and not just have him as a "decoration"

Also I decided to name him Dillinger.

A UTH is a sufficient heat source. Far superior to a heat lamp. You should continue a similar trend with this animal. Just include the substrate and the like.
Looks to be in good health.

This is what I was going to say. Just throw it on a thermostat or have a substrate that he can't move out of the way and make contact with the glass....but I'd still get the thermostat

That's a nice looking bci mate congrats on saving him. He does look to be in good condition considering.
How long did the owner have him?
Awesome looking BCI! He looks pretty full grown too. Good on ya for rescuing him!

Clearly....."viscous"
He prob had his first good long rest in a long time once you brought him home and provided him with a good home and good energy.
Well done!

Thanks for all the nice replies! Sorry I haven't been on here lately, but Dillinger is doing well in his new home, such a nice calm snake. The previous owner said that he had him for a little over two years.

2 years just show how resilient these snakes are to poor conditions which is a complete shame for the snake.
Look after him he is a beauty.
