Well went to the vet about 2 months ago about his regurge issue and had a fecal done. he looked great, no sign of ri or anything.

The fecal came back not so good. he had pinworms and has been treated 3 times. once every 2 weeks. now my $160 guyana i thought i got a good deal on cost me about close to $350. but i love his coloration and tail.

here is a video of him
guyana red tail boa - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fscgW2pX1MI)

i am feeding him hairless med mice for the next 6 feedings because he did regurge again on a adult mouse. after talking to a few people we think it is due to his regurge issue that he had, not being in top notch shape, and the hair of the mice/rats does not completly agree with him yet.

so he is being cared for.

Good to hear you're getting it worked out. What are pinworms caused from? Was it a wild caught?

I bought him at a show because his colors were screaming red at the time. he was agressive and i still bought him. i was told he was only 18 months and a cbb. i am starting to think he was a wild caught. he had mites really bad witch i didnt see at the time.

but hopefully in a few months he will be up to size. he is only 350g at 4 feet.

I'm weary of reptile shows for just that reason. That and they never have enough boas! If just one person shows up with mites that could be trouble for everyone. If I do go to a show I shed my clothes upon entering the house and immediately take a shower. Better to learn who the quality reputable breeders are of the type of boa you want and stick with them vs rolling the dice. You'll spend more but it's worth the peace of mind. Glad you have it under control and your boa is on the path to recovery.
