Looks rather slick! The whole page looks VERY professional, and the pop-up links are really neat, and load faster than pretty much any similarly designed site I've visited.
My one criticism would be that it seems redundant to use the script for links that stay within your site (i.e. Insights on Parasites, Sad History links). If you can just have those link to the proper (full-size) page while retaining the special scripting for the external links, I feel as though that would maybe be a little better.

Thank you. Good thinking.
The ability to stash youtube videos on the page is cool too.

Yeah, definitely makes life much easier...like embedding without sacrificing the visual space!

Bingo, a pile of thumbnails looks great on a gallery, but clutter up a page like my home page.

It also seems redundant to have a popup that is only a couple lines of text, like these:
http://www.varanid.us/gout/images/cool.gif
http://www.varanus.us/bok/shabeer.gif
I would restrict the popups to pictures/videos and pages from other sites. Instead of using pictures of text, I would either just get rid of the popup and enter the text right there, or make it a link to another page which goes into a more in-depth description.
Edit:
Oh, and this one needs an update, since an adult needs more soil than that:

I agree with both of the posts above, and think the website looks great. The popup thing is much easier than navigating between tabs. Nicely done.
I like the pop-up idea, it works well

Is there not 2' of soil in this enclosure? I thought that was enough for a sav?

I doubt it would be possible to have 2 feet of soil in that enclosure, the solid bottom part is clearly nowhere near half the enclosure`s height (I believe it`s 4 feet tall)?
I also don`t think the piece by the South African vet is very accurate, because he isn`t saying he`s seen many (any?) cases of MBD in Varanids, nor does he give details of how the animals he has treated for MBD were kept?
A properly supported captive Varanid does not need exposure to real or artificial sunlight to remain in good health, productive and long lived, that`s been proven over many years and with many species.
For Wayne:
Hi Wayne, I think if you`re going to recommend other keepers offer UVB you should do that yourself, fitting a UVB tube 2feet or more above the animal as you appeared to do is not benefiting them in the least (I`m judging by the videos and photos you`ve shown previously), unless you`ve since changed the tube`s position to within 10inches or less?
The picture is from before the full two feet was put in.
Ok cheers ;)
