I can't wait I will be picking up a normal burm later today if all seems good,
I have not seen it but the owner sounds knowledgeable and has answered all my questions I will post pics of my latests when I get him. He is about 7' eats giant rats and is 11 months old bit hissy in viv but never bitten, so I may need a hook lol. No health problems but I will find that out;)
So I will be back later as I need to sort out a room for quarantine.

He is here! Such a nice snake and the old owner was very interested in how I would keep him with lots of questions about husbandry etc. The burm looks in perfect condition so I had to have him, not sure if £300 is to much but but for a good one I was willing to buy and now I can't wait to see him grow pics to follow.

Congratulations! I always wanted a burm, but with my set of growing snakes I'll be tight on space already. They are gorgeous, though.

Thanks a lot I have been wanting a normal burm for ages now the old owner had quite a few snakes including a Java retic which I also wanted but she was not for sale:sad:
He wouldn't let me see the rest and a gave him some respect back:nerd:
Anyway now he is here I have him set up temp (till Friday) in my sons room:)

He isn't here we are moving soon and he allready lives with his mum and grandma 120 miles away. Me and his brother live here till we find a house so I get plenty of time to look after my snakes and do even more research on my snakes ha ha.
But I know what you mean he is very hissy never heard any of my snakes hiss that much.:D

You can call them Rub here too due to a really popular brand being rubbermaid ;)

Beautiful snake! That's a big male. I love normals too. Its hard to find normals here now theyre all het something or albino and the prices are through the roof due to the bylaws. Congrats though I'm jealous :)
Great snake, those aren't allowed in my state without a permit - and they'll pay you to go in the woods capture it and crucify it. There is a nature center here that has a HUGE albino berm - I'm a member there so I visit once a week, maybe once every two - and I always go look at the massive snakes. It's so impressive to see the size these snakes achieve.

Thanks again for the nice comments I will keep updating as he gets bigger etc.
I must say I can't believe how much bigger he is compared to my female boa at the same age omg.:D

Oh, I love the size, but not sure I could house or afford to feed one lol. I was looking at an 8' albino male the other day.

He's gorgeous! There's not many animals that are prettier or more majestic than a well-looked after Burm/Retic in my book. Congratulations!

Great looking Burm, super dark! IMO you should always have a hook for working with bigger snakes. Very useful tool to have around.

Thank you.
I have invested in a hook but I will only use when I can no longer use my hands to be fare he is very curious/alert I was speaking to the old keeper and he said it is normal for a young burm as they get bigger they get calmer.
When I went to pick my T's up at the week end, the lady got her 14' male burm out no hook she said he is a softy he was 10 years old.

Most big burms are pretty docile, but I would rather make sure they're not going to whip around and grab my arm with a hook first. Just a common-sense safety precaution IMO. A friend of mine uses a paper towel roll to give his big snakes a tap rather than a hook. Just another solution.
I can't wait I will be picking up a normal burm later today if all seems good,
