I've been reading a few articles on this recently as it's been found in this area on Timber Rattlesnakes, Black Rat Snakes and Eastern Garter Snakes. What I can't seem to find information on whether it is contagious or do the snakes need to come in contact with the fungal spores. Does anyone know of any good articles that may have additional information? Also does anyone know if this poses a risk to pet snakes being brought outdoors? Thanks for any info.

Kevin at NERD made a video about it, having a hard time tracking it down

Thanks I've tried finding the video in Youtube but I'm coming up empty. I did find one video by TN Wild Side. TN Wild Side-Timber Rattlesnake Disease - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbGYrAraNdE) It sounds like it's a fungus that lives in the soil and they don't seem to know why it's affecting snakes. Such a shame, we have so few rattle snakes in MA so I would imagine that this is going to be devastating to the population.
