Hi, I got a new Chinese cave gecko (Goniurosaurus .luii) on Saturday as I treated myself for my birthday. It's a 6 month old female and she seems healthy.
What I would like to know is whether she is a Chinese cave gecko (G.Luii) or a Hainan cave gecko (G.hainanensis)?? Also if anyone else keeps these any info or tips are welcome :)
I'll attach some pics so you can see but can only attach one per post as I'm on my IPhone.

£55, from what I've read they're not too common but I'm sure you'll find them. This one was CB and i got him from Leeroys Lizard Lounge in warrington but watch out for any wild caught ones in shops.
Could try phoning them if your close by and seeing if they're due any more

At the moment it's in a 2ft x 1ft x 6" rub as its a tiny baby but will soon be moved up to a viv :)

They need like 20gal when they're adults, right?

Sounds good mark, just check they're CB... They're apparently very secretive and don't do well with much handling. They look nice tho haha

Apparently, but I'm not sure what size that is as we don't use gallons to measure vivs in the uk..
I'll just offer a nice size 3ft when adult depending on size.

I will ask about them next time I go thanks for the heads up.

You can google it and convert if you know the measurement. ;)

I've read that females can be kept together but I can't say as this is my first one.

Beautiful gecko. I wouldnt say 3 foot would be necessary for one. Same cage dimensions as leopard geckos as they stay smaller (that being said I don't use the usual 10 gal minimum. In my opinion leos need at least a 20) . Never owned one but I have a friend who does and from what I remember your current enclosure is good enough for life and keep it somewhat cool and humid. Beautiful gecko though looks Chinese in my opinion but I'm no expert

For anyone who's interested, I've had a positive ID as Goniurosaurus Hainanensis. Hainan cave gecko.
Oh here's a fresh pic of her :)
