Little Flint ate again today. And BOY HOWDY did he strike that rat pup! Last time I fed him, he slowly opened his mouth and then hit, but this time was more like...

BLAMMO-MUTHAF***A!!!
He made my wife and I both jump. It's a good sign. A very good sign as far as I'm concerned. His shedding has finally happened, he's pooped twice, and he's eaten twice - two rat pups each time. I feel like he's getting used to me and his new environment.
Anyway, thank you for all of your help and continued advice. I appreciate it.
P.S. Photos!!! :D

What was even cuter, is that after he finished eating, I put my face up to the tank and smiled at him as a proud parent does. He proceeded to uncurl himself, then slowly bring his face right up to mine and look at me long enough as if to say, "Thank you for the food, dad!" \(^__^)/
(I may be daft, but the world in my head is much more fun.)

heheheh rather than 'thanks' i think maybe he was making sure YOU weren't MORE food ;)
glad he is continuing to do well for you!
It looks from the pictures that maybe those rat pups are on the small side? Hard to tell, and i know you said he eats two.

i agree, he could be taking down hoppers from the looks of him and they would have way more nutrients than those 2 pups you are feeding him.. any reason why you haven't switched yet? or is he smaller than the pic makes him look? lol. :)

The OP just got the snake, this is only his second feeding.
I know when i first got my corns i bought them pinkies (50 frozen from an expo), and they outgrew them halfway through, so i was just trying to use up the rest of what i had :P
I guess all this is small change, seeing as he is eating at all, and got through his shed :) ;)

aaaah, i see, when i got my BCI and it was still on pinkies the first thing i did was switch to a larger prey because i thought she was big enough lol... then i was told that she needed to be eating even larger i was like holy crap!..and now shes just doesn't ever stop growing lol...

Well, yes, he is smaller than the pics make him look. The first rat pup left a NOTICEABLE bulge in him, and the second was a bit on the small side.
Basically when I first got him, I bought 16 rat pups. When I looked through them there was actually quite a bit of variation in size, so I decided that was perfect. I started out with the smallest two, and am moving up as I go along. With this feeding, I got through the small ones. Next feeding I will use bigger ones. I may actually just feed him one because of the size jump.

Nice boa! Last year I took my BCI, Zoey off her short non feeding cycle. I opened the cage BEFORE I offered the rat, went into the bathroom to get it out and stuff, and when I walked back into my room Zoey was in strike position, of course... but she was sticking about a foot out of the cage. That kinda complicated things.. Lol.
