Can anybody tell me of a good humidity gauge . The two digital temp and humidity ones i have just bought for my new tank , i am sure they are wrong . The top rear says 43 , and the bottom rear says 37 . I know it should be at least 60 , right.

Go to homedepot and ask for a digitial hygrometer/thermometer. One with high's and lows would be a bonus. They are 10-12 $ and look like this :

If both of you lr humidity gauges are saying 40% I am sure that it is at 40.
That being said, are you using analogue or digital hygrometers?

get sea salt and mix it with water, put that and the humidity gauge in a bag and the humidity gauge should read 75. if it says 68 well then you know to just add 7 to the reading. YouTube it for a better description but that is the easiest way. even the best digital reader is going to inaccurate
