What type of kingsnake?

Hey guys, i just bought this adorable little guy 3 weeks ago and he was sold to me as a "black and white california kingsnake". From what i’ve been able to find online, I think he’s a black and white aberrant california kingsnake. I’ve seen people post about "speckled kingsnakes","high white", etc. Just wanted to know what he’d really be considered. Thanks! :)

I def don't think hes high white and speckleds are a different species. I think you got it right with the B&W aberrant, someone else can confirm though.

Cali king. The reason people label them as "black and white" is because in the wild cali kings are generally a yellowish color rather then white. This has more going on then just a normal black and white cali king though. But yes it is a cali:)

Black and white is typically the desert phase I think they call it, and the pattern def looks aberrant to me

I would agree w. abberant pattern; my female was sold to me as a high white but she looks very very similar to yours, and i introduce her as an 'aberrant cali king'.
I think you get abberants when you cross newport stripes with regular desert banded kings.
Nice new snake, he/she sure is a looker :)

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I can definitely see him being a cross between newport and desert banded stripes. Anywho, I'm excited! He's still just a hatchling but already so calm and sweet. :)

lol careful, my king started out that way; i would have trusted her with a 5 year old, and once she hit the 2.5 foot mark, she turned into a 'bite first, ask questions later' eating machine :P
She is still ok to handle, but very interested in food when you first open up the tank. She is the reason i started hook training all my snakes. :P

Haha, Comes with the territory! Did you feed her in her enclosure? I've been using a hook with him to take him out and feed him in a separate tub.

i feed in the enclosure; i think if i moved her to feed she never would have tamed down again.
This way, she realizes that as soon as she is out of her enclosure, she is NOT getting food. The only exception to this was the video i made of her eating a sparrow egg, which i shot on my bed so i could get good footage.
