Need Help to ID this snake!

Hello everyone out there!
I bought this poor thing from a petstore that was not
giving it very good care. They told me it was an amazon tree boa.
I have some doubts and would like a confirmation if it is indeed what
they are telling me it is.

I dont know what kind of snake it is, but why the liquid baby food? Did you offer it any mice/pinkies, live or frozen/thawed? Can you detail the set up you have it in now?

If it is ill/stressed and not eating as a result, it would be best to refrain from handling him until he starts eating again. I know its hard to resist lol, but giving him some much needed r&r will help him get better faster, and start eating on his own sooner.

Can you take a picture of the entire snake by itself? That does not look like a Amazon Tree Boa. The head shape looks like a Viper Boa.

It looks to be some kind of pacific boa maybe a pacific tree boa? If it hasn't eaten in 8 months force feeding might be in order.

It doesn't look like an Amazon tree Boa to me, but it's hard to ID a snake that's in that bad condition, need a full body shot. If it is a candoia species, I've read that some are picky and it may only want to eat anoles or anole scented mice.

Also try not to hold that snake. It will be extremely stressed right now and handling will only make it worse.

Also, why are you feeding liquid baby food?? Did your vet tell you to do that?!

It does look like Candoia but way too thin to be a viper boa. Possibly carinita. If it has really been 8 months since it last ate you probably need to attempt lizard scenting rodents. I would look on other forums with more people with Candoia knowledge as I don't believe there are many keepers of these here.

Ditto. Definitely Candoia, and I agree its likely C. c. carinata (Pacific dwarf boa). Very finicky eaters, especially if they are wild-caught, which this one probably ones.

To the OP, the odds are against you and your snake. It is unfortunate that the pet store duped you into buying a unhealthy snake that wasn't even the species as advertised. Morons. Anyway...get that snake set-up in a humid, arboreal set-up quick if you haven't already, and find someone with Candoia experience. But honestly, I would cut your losses and have the snake euthanized and save yourself some trouble.

To give you a point of reference, I had one several years back. Was a healthy WC specimen and ate fine/shed fine for months....then died mysteriously. Yours looks in bad shape from the get-go
