So this has pretty much been a week of hell for poor Sebby, my 2 year old corn (and me too!) He had refused a feed, and with him being a fussy feeder, my usual practice is to leave him completely alone for a week then offer him one again, so i didn't notice a small burn had appeared on his neck. Unbeknown to me, Sebby's thermostat stopped working and for what i can only assume was up to a week, his heat mat was effectively unstatted. He also chose that moment to find a gap in the lino covering it and went underneath the lino so was directly on the heat mat. His thermometer had broken and when the replacement arrived a week later i saw the temperature and immediately checked it out then realised the issue. He has approximately 3 small patches of dry looking skin and i assume they're burns. You can only see them when you look closely, so when i checked on him every day, because i didn't handle him i couldn't see them. Here is some photos - he was very unsettled and not his normal calm self so they're not the best quality. The white marks you see on them are not actually very visible in reality.

I gave him a lukewarm bath and intend to do this daily. I also changed his heating so that it is now statted and safe - is there anything else i should or shouldn't do?

Avoid baths, for this they really don't do much but add stress.
I the burns are that minor, I'd leave them be but keep an eye on them in case they get worse (I highly doubt they will)
Are any of the "sores" open?

It looks to be pretty minor, don't stress it too much. He will be fine, just keep an eye on it.
Sorry didn't see stephens comment lol

none of them are open, and yeah, the baths are a hatred of his. I thought i should rehydrate the area a little. I'll keep a good eye on them - thought it best i check them out! Thanks :)

Maybe it's sentient and truly knows who you are on the inside....
How did a snake get burns on it's back from a heat mat?

Perhaps it's gravid and was inverted? :p
Do corns even do that...?

I think the heatmat may have been inside the enclosure and his tail was underneath...idk

This is why I don't put the heat mat on the inside of the enclosure I gaffer tape them to the underside. The burns don't seem to bad from the pics I hope he makes a full recovery soon.

I have wooden vivariums and the heat mat is inside but always sealed down under lino. the thermostat for some reason stopped turning off the mat when the temperature was reached. He's on a ceramic bulb set up now (guarded) which i've been meaning to do anyway :) he seems to be calmer now and i'll just leave him be

Makes no sense that he'd have burns on the top still.
It could be something else.

I'd say just keep an eye on it and see if there is any change with his next shed. I couldnt see much form the images you posted, so it sounds like it should get better quickly if it IS a burn. If not, you may need to look into other medical diagnoses.
