My BP who will be 2 in August.. has not eatin since Dec 6th.
I've read that BPs will go off feed for months at a time...and I'm trying not to panic...
I present him with Med. Rat every Saturday..with one of two results.
1. He comes out his hide, investigates then moves back in to his hide or moves to the hot hide.
2. He ignores the Rat completely and just stays in his Cool hide
There have been no changes to his environment that i know of that would induce this
He's is housed in a long terrarium...with a HOT spot of 93-97 Humidity stays 65-85 depending on if shedding or not
He's not losing weight.
My first winter with him he was active and eating through...could this winter have induced some type of hibernation? and when should I begin to worry about him not eating.

He's old enough now to breed. Doesn't care for food. He's fine.

^ this,
and as long as hes not losing body mass you shouldn't be worried, he will eat when hes hungry.

I have one male who quits eating in October and doesn't start again until March. The first year he did this, I was really worried, so I can understand your concern. Now that I know it's going to happen pretty much like clockwork, it's no big deal.
I don't even try to offer food unless I see him out of his hide actively hunting for a couple of days, because I know it'll just go to waste. Once he begins actively hunting again, then I offer, and he takes it immediately.
Hang in there!
Ball pythons don't hibernate.
4 months without food is nothing, especially if he's a good size.

And, so long as he's in good health, you shouldn't need to worry much. If you're worried about wasting too many rats, you can offer them every other week instead. He'll eat for you eventually.

Or just grab a rodent recycle machine like this one.

I love it...too bad i don't have the room ...and my female companions can barely tolerate my BP...let alone a tiny dino...

scratch that statement about female companions barely tolerating Goldie(my BP)
i told a few of them that he's saving himself for breeding and the responses i got were as follows
"Aww..get him a girlfriend"
"Sex on a empty stomach is not the business"
"He lonely he needs a mate. Do they come in pink?"

Lol they DO come in (almost) pink... I think thats definitely a liscence to get another one.
As long as he's maintaining his weight, drinking water, and acting otherwise normal he's fine. My male adult BP only ate once over the winter, then once in mid-March and not since.

Bumping up (as too not create Another thread)
it's going on 6mo's and my BP has still not attempted to eat...
I've tried Live and Fresh Killed(with and without head smash), and F/T
Goldie(my BP) investigates the food then just returns to his hide...i'm really starting to get concerned....
He will be 2 in August.

How often do you handle him?
How are you keeping him?
It's not uncommon for males to continue not to eat. I know of a breeder who had a male go off food during one breeding season and continue to breed and still not eat during the following seasons and STILL kept breeding. They eat when they eat.
