very cool. i would place the thermometer a little lower though so you can get a better read, it looks like its right beside the heater.

Looks great, did you just go outside and find some nice branches and then disinfect them?

Thanks guys , i thought the ladder would be better than a shelf . I got it on ebay , it is a vintage ladder , and has been waxed , so great for keeping clean . The snake makes some great shapes on it !!! . The log i got from the woods , and washed it down , but will have to replace it if he does a mess on it . ;)

Looks great. Love the carpet as well. very cool. i would place the thermometer a little lower though so you can get a better read, it looks like its right beside the heater.
I would maybe move it a bit but always set your thermostat with a temp gun and never just go by the setting. (@DD)

Why not just grab a branch, ensure no seriouslu bad bug and toss it in. No need to go overboard with disinfecting. It's not needed. Depending on your method the wood may be worse after than natural.

yea i know, i just thinkn it would be a more accurate reading if it was a little lower.. i check all my temps once a day with my IR gun.

Can someone tell me what a IR gun is . Also some have said move the probe nearer the bulb , and some have said move it away . I am waiting on two digital thermometers in the post today , that also read the humidity. The snake is hanging on the ladder right now , just like a tree Boa !! , and he is haunging right over the heater , he dosnt seem to be intreasted in the bulb area , is this where i should monitor the heat ?

An IR gun or temp gun is a thermometer. You point it at a surface and pull the trigger. It shows the temp of that surface. A herpers best friend.

That sounds like a really good idea . My thermometers have just arrived , i was going to put one on the top rear wall , and one on the bottom rear wall . But with a tank this size , the gun sounds real good . Thanks .
