My green tree is only about 8 months old and it shed about 36 hours ago, and i just noticed that sticking out of his vent looks like a pink sack.. Like his insides are out side for lack of better terms.. Is this something I should freak out about? It looks to be full of liquid... and near bursting.. What do i do?

seeing as how its so late in the night/early in the morning here.. there's nothing I can do in the way of seeking help from a Vet.. so ATM I have him in a worm bath of water/betadine in hopes to keep what ever it is sticking out his vent from getting infected or excessivly dryed out.. if anyone has any info on something like this plz let me know asap

please post some pics so we can get a better idea. someone smarter than I should be along shortly, and the pics will speed things up, im thinking it could be its genitals poped out, ie his hemapines, but why it didn't go back I don't know. sounds like a vet trip to me. is this what it looks like?

It looks like a prolapse. All I know about them is what I have seen on here so sorry I can't be much help to you. If you use the search on here and put in prolapse it comes up with a couple of recent threads that may be of some help to you.

I heard that you can put it back in but you really need to go to the vets asap. You need to keep it humid if you leave it to long it will dry up and need to be surgically removed.

It needs vet treatment asap, if it stays prolapsed then you could be looking a the tissue becoming infected and dying.

Looks like a prolapse to me. You DEFINITELY need to see a vet. Until you do, you have to make sure it does not dry out.
I wouldn't try to force it back in. Also check on your husbandry.

Is this a common issue with snakes? I own 4 atm and have had snakes in the past and i've never encountered this... This is my first Green Tree and I went the extra mile with his habitat, are there things that cause this from the owners point of view or is this just a flook thing that happens from time to time?

All I know is that stress or over feeding can cause a prolapse. So what are your feeding schedules and what size?
How long have you owned the GTP have you given it enough time to settle?
It is rare but more common in GTP and Boa's.
Have you seen a vet yet?

If the animal is constipated and strains to defecate, it can cause prolapse. Constipation in GTPs can be caused by too dry of a habitat, too large of a meal, or genetic intestinal weakness.
Prolapse can also be caused by the enclosure being too dry and the snake catching the cloacal tissue when it is defecating, or it can be caused by genetic problems. Whatever the reason, prolapsed bowels seem to be more common in green tree pythons and emerald tree boas than in terrestrial pythons and boas.
What you can do for now is place the snake in a tub on some wet paper towels. You MUST keep that tissue moist or it will dry out, turn necrotic and need to be surgically removed. In a young GTP, necrotic bowels stands a good chance of not being survivable. You also MUST get to a vet as soon as possible (like, within a day or two) to have the tissue reinserted, or the snake will lose that bit of bowels, or possibly die.
Please don't wait long on this; it's a medical emergency.
