Chrome Head Black Bloods.

I figure it was time to show them off. They are1.1 pair of '09's. Both right at the five foot mark. The male is quite a bit heavier but she longer. They are super mellow. The male has a slight scare on his head. The guy i got them from use to let his 3 and 5 year old daughters hold them. One of them was holding the male when he stuck his head threw the back of a wooden dining room chair and got it stuck. Before he could try to get it out the snake pulled it head back threw and in the process rip off two scales. It healing up really well.

Here's a few pics for now i'll get more later. I have had them together for a little over a week hoping to get some babies.:D They have both shed and ate for me.

Then the female . She a little more shy plus i been leaving her alone to settle in. I am so hoping to get some babies from this two. If not this year i am sure next year i will.

regarding the loss of scales on the male ,when healing and through multiple shedding would they grow back or is it like a scar so to speak ? that may sound a bit of a silly question but if one doesn't know ,one must ask LOL

In the first three pictures of the male you can see the scar his was in shed. Last picture is after shed and you can see how much it's already healed up.

Yes actully the female is even lighter some time. The males head will turn pure black when in feed mode. Bloods are one of the few snakes who's heads will change color some with their moods.

Thanks! I still can't believe how active they are when i get them out. The male is like a Carpet all over the place checking everything out.:) The female i only had out twice for cage cleaning. Both times she just like the male checking out everything around her, but she doesn't go cralwing all over the room.
The feed response of the males is insane. He was laying under the newspaper when i open the door and just stuck mouth wide open straight up. He got a mouth full of newspaper. I had to take a hook and open his mouth to get it out. Then he chomped down on the hook getting his teeth caught in the rubber on the hook. So then i had to use a small metal pipe to open his mouth and get the hook out. The whole time he was wrapping his body around the rat i had drop in the cage. He was squeezing so hard he pop the eyes and tongue out. I am glad to say they each ate two jumbo rats and i still have all my fingers.:)

I also lucked out and got a call from a guy who was cleaning out a rental house about a week before picking them up. Said he found this cage in a house and his boss was going to pitch it. He said if i wanted it they bring it to me, so after seeing a couple pictures i said sure. It cost me only $35.00. The whole inside is made of plastic shower surround and seal. It two cages in one with duel locks. It had been used as a snake cage for a pair of Burmese's. I know because there was still shed in it. It's 5x2x1.5.

Me and a buddy figure it up and with all the materials alone it had to cost around $400.00 just to make. Who ever make it did a awesome job and knew what they were doing. I am guessing brand new with material and labor it would cost around $500.00 to $600.00. They had to be a carpenter. The wood is a 1.5 inches thick and the plastic lining is .50 inch thick. It was definitely built to last.
